Following someone else's review I thought I would visit this place with the view of arranging a group ride to here. Plenty of parking front and rear, toilets are at the front. Plenty of seating indoors and outside there's covered seating as well as uncovered with a nice view out back. The shop has a good variety of gifts, crafts, foods and cards with the addition of a post office. Don't forget to check out upstairs too. Now the good part, good selection of homemade cakes in the cafe also available for takeaway :) and the usual selection of drinks. Restaurant also on site and a small garden centre at the rear. Definitely worth a visit, nice area with quiet surroundings.

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime, was already quite busy. We had the Cajun chicken club sandwich on white bread and a chicken, sweetcorn and mayo on granary bread. The chicken club was very good. The chicken and sweetcorn was a little bland but the bread was delicious. The best part was the massive choice of cakes and sweet treats. I opted for cherry Bakewell slice which was massive and tasted amazing. My daughter had the Nutella and kinder Bueno brownie which was also very good.

It's been a while since visiting here and I can't say it has changed for the better. The rise in healthy organic, vegetable based menus has grown past being just a trend, yet The Blue Egg offers little more than roasted vegetables three ways (sandwich, bagel, flatbread). Considering the plethora of dishes served that are meat or dairy based, which looked mighty tasty, there was less originality in the plant based offerings. To note, we arrived in time for lunch and the full English breakfasts looked epic so maybe I just missed out on that veggie option, maybe next time.

Food lovely as always. Experience however was spoilt by a selfish woman and her enormous dog sprawled out on the floor, or standing up with his nose to the table begging for food. This shouldn’t be acceptable. I won’t be returning to use the crockery and dining room where patrons share their food with a dog.

Great place for a lightish lunch or coffee. Food was plentiful and very tasty. Staff were pleasant friendly and helpful! Love the buzzers they give you to take to your table which buzz and flash when your order is ready at the pick up point. Freshly made bread sold in the bakery section although quite expensive is large and lovely bread(they will slice it for you if required. Well worth a visit with a well stocked shop adjoining!

4 stars - Bit of a long wait for our food, had to get a cloth to wipe the only table that was free for us to sit at but very tasty Flatbreads and cakes looked amazing too.

Great place for breakfast. Vegans and vegetarians are well catered for as well. Nice shop selling local goods as well. Customer service of staff at the cafe is second to none. Lovely n

Food display and cake selection look fantastic, today being our first time, we chose sausage roll beens and salad , looked good but both sausage roll and beens were only lukewarm and really wasn’t worth the price we paid.
